A Review of the Game of Caribbean Stud Poker

Does a Caribbean stud poker strategy exist that will make the house’s edge reasonable?  Unfortunately, the answer is no unless the jackpot is at a high level.  To explain further…  Caribbean stud Poker offers a sizable house advantage of over 5% - not in terms of cards but by way of the betting structure.  The fact that you MUST bet three times in order to stay in a hand definitely does not help your advantage.  The times that the dealer does not qualify (44% of the tim), you only win your ante - which in most instances isn’t very much. On the other hand, if you decide to fold, you lose your ante and the round is over.

For Caribbean stud poker, there is no room for ‘dumb’ play - the house edge is already high enough to take care of that.  Despite the overwhelming house advantage, there are a few little things that you can do to better your odds, here we go:

1. Always fold if you hold nothing.
2. If the setting isn’t right, don’t make the bet.
3. Always make the bet with a pair of better.
4. If you hold ace-king, make the bet if one of your other three cards matches the dealer’s up card.
5. Make the bet if you hold ace-king-queen or ace-king-jack when the dealer’s up card is any of your five cards.

Most all online casinos now offer you a free bonus deposits. Some are known as sign-up bonuses, here if you deposit a certain amount of money the casino will match it the first time (up to a set limit) these types of bonuses tend to stay in the hundreds of dollars. Past types of free money amounts can be anything from 20 - 50 dollars, and even much more depending on your sign-up deposit - so be sure to cut out good online casino reviews.

Caribbean stud poker is typically available at your favorite online casino. It and other casino favorites such as the slots and roulette can be played directly online. Try it for yourself if you haven’t already via sites like Frenchlick Springs Resort, Frenchlick Springs Hotel or French Lick Springs.

The Ins and Outs of The California SuperLotto

The California SuperLotto is one of the largest single State lotteries within the country. With a base level jackpot of $7 million, the Lotto at its lowest level is still a multimillion dollar jackpot that anyone would be happy to win. However, as with any major lottery game, the jackpot prize in the SuperLotto game can grow to mammoth proportions if it goes un-won for several weeks at a time. At its record high, the California SuperLotto reached a high of $193 million, a number that could easily rival the jackpots offered by some of the large multi state lotteries.

Winners of this massive jackpot also have an option available to them which is fairly similar to those which are offered by other major lotteries to their jackpot winners. When someone wins the jackpot they do have an option to take either a single cash payment as a lump sum, or to be paid an annuity over twenty six years until the jackpot is paid out. This option was put in place by the California Lottery Association as an option for the player’s benefit, to ensure that they can take the payment option which is the most beneficial to themselves.

The California SuperLotto Plus game is modeled after the Mega Millions multi state game, which has for a time now been the most popular lottery game in the country, making it the logical choice to model a smaller state game upon. The game requires the selection of six numbers in order to win the jackpot.  The first five numbers are selected from a pool of 47 numbers, and the sixth “Mega Number” is selected from a separate pool of twenty seven numbers. This contemporary 47/27 format (as it is known) has been in place since the year 2000.

One of the fun things for people who like to play the lottery is that this is a game that is still played the traditional method for lottery games. While many lottery games have now moved to a format that chooses numbers using a computerized program to randomly generate the picks, the SuperLotto has remained traditional and still has standardized rubber balls which are selected in order to choose the lotteries winning numbers. This again is similar to the multi state lotteries upon which it is modeled, as he Mega Millions California edition still also uses a physical selection mechanism for choosing its winning numbers.
